Mushroom World
Mushroom logs/ Full 4ft. logs
1. Our logs have been inoculated at the proper time of the year. Right before the trees
bud, out they are felled and inoculated in a timely manner to give your edible mushrooms
an advantage over compettitor fungus. While there will be competitors on your logs they’re mostly harmless to
the productivity of the fungus you are intentionally growing, because of the advantage your fungus has been
given. They have already gone through their initial spawn run and are ready to fruit.
2. Logs should be watered for at least 2 hours, 3 times a week. It is possible that the logs will still produce
well without watering regularly, but the chances are slim to none in Florida. They should also be kept in 70 to
80% shade and elevated off the ground.
3. To induce fruiting in these logs, either run irrigation for 24 hours before or during a cold snap or shock the
log/s by submersing them in cold water for 12 to 24 hours. A study presented in the Brazilian Journal of
Microbiology showed that a change in water temperature from 72 deg. to 61 deg. and shorter soaking times,
increased yield by 2-4 times. While the shiitakes respond well to this process, oysters seem to be more finicky.
To allow for regeneration and new mycelial growth, force fruit the logs once every 6 weeks or less.

Half logs (2 ft.), equipped with irrigation
1. These logs are equipped with adjustable drip emitters for easy watering. All you need to do is connect the adapter at the end of the
microtubing to a spigot. Additional logs can be added by inserting a (T), that’s provided and connecting the microtubing from the additional log. In most cases it will be
unnecessary and can be problematic, to open the spigot all the way.
2. Logs should be watered for 2 hours, 3 times a week. They should also be kept in 70 to 80% shade and elevated off the ground.
3. To induce fruiting in these logs, run the irrigation for 24 hours before or during a cold snap. The change in humidity and temp. is was what triggers
the fruiting. Soak the logs every 6 weeks or less often, to allow for regeneration and new mycelial growth.
